Temps de Flors Exhibition
Photos of Girona’s Temps de Flors (Flower Time) exhibition, in which every year the city’s historic center and its monuments are decorated with a variety of flower arrangements.
Ikebana 生花
One of the notable parts of the Girona flower festival in 2016 were the Ikebana works, the Japanese art of floral arrangements, hosted at Les Sarraïnes building, in Jurats square.
An old style floral corner
Some of the artists did a great job to integrate the flowers into different contexts, and using additional objects to convey sense and harmony to their allotted spaces throughout Girona.

Ruins of the first hospital in Girona during Temps de Flors
During Temps de Flors 2016 it was possible to access for the last time the excavations in this archaeological site, which was part of the Roman Gerunda, and is located next to the Sant Nicolau chapel, near the monastery of Sant Pere de Galligants. Some parts date from the 2nd century, and it is believed it was used in medieval times as the first hospital in the city. Now it is a spa.

Capitals of the cloister columns in the Girona Cathedral
Low-reliefs of animals and seemingly mythological creatures. Just as in the monastery of Sant Pere de Galligants, which can be seen in the first photo gallery of Girona, the designs in each capital of the cloister are quite varied.
